About
Hi! I'm Hannah Espy, and I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Lycoming College. My research interests include stratification, preschool education, organizations, and social networks, and I use mixed research methods with a focus on qualitative and big-data text analysis. My research on the hidden curriculum in preschool identifies how preschools transmit messages about social status, health, and relational content that reinforce class inequality. In other work, I examine the discursive strategies we use to understand the role of luck in our lives.
